Offer Custom Orders

On Etsy, you have the option to create custom products for your customers. It's a bit more hands-on, and there may be other platforms better suited for that, but it's a fantastic way to increase your sales (and get those valuable reviews!)

Engage with Customers After a Sale

The pre-set automated message in your listing doesn't get seen much. Instead, take the opportunity to reach out to customers through Etsy messaging and let them know you're there to help with any questions or special requests. And hey, if they're happy with their purchase, gently suggest they leave a glowing five-star review.

Reviews are like gold when you're starting out, so make sure your shop is set up with consistent branding to make customers feel comfortable buying from you.

List as Many Products as Possible

Now, this one depends on your niche, but generally, the more products you have listed, the better your visibility and results. In the Notion niche, it might be tough to list more than 50 products, but starting with 10 is awesome. If your products are quicker to make or design-related, consider having at least 100 listings and create some enticing bundles.

Read Etsy's Policies and Optimize Your Titles

I highly recommend diving into Etsy's policies, or at least getting a good summary (you can always ask Chat GPT for help!). There are lots of little things you can't do that might result in a strike or even a ban. For example, no emailing customers to promote your products, and definitely no asking your friends to buy and leave you a glowing five-star review.

Also, take a look at the commercial use policies for any products you draw inspiration from. If you're planning to create something based on "Getting Things Done," visit their website and see what's allowed by the original creator.

Create Irresistible Bundles This is the secret sauce. Bundles are what allow me to make a living on Etsy. Start by loading up your shop with multiple listings, and once you have enough products in your niche, put together a killer "Mega Bundle" that gives customers access to all your listings. Don't forget to include an attention-grabbing image promoting the bundle in each listing, and add a link in the description to direct customers straight to it.

Bundles work like magic to boost your visits, views, and even get your bundle ranked on the first page. Etsy shoppers absolutely adore bundles, so don't be shy about creating multiple specific bundles. Trust me, it works like magic!
