Now that we know our audience well and that we don't focus on what we want to sell but on products where there is demand, it's time to do some research and find those bestsellers.
For this step, you have two possibilities.
Either you do your research with Everbee. There is a free plan, but it's a bit limited. Or you follow the free route by clicking on every product on the page and doing your own analysis (look at number of purchases for the past 24hrs).
Obviously, I would recommend using Everbee as it saves time and is also useful for your SEO.
How it works:
First, enter the keywords that your customers are most likely to enter into your search bar for the product you have identified.
Then you'll have your list of results, and with Everbee, you'll click on "product analytics". Then click on "monthly sales" to filter the sales by the total number of sales this month.
The most performing products of this month will be positioned in the top positions.
Then, sort through these products. The most interesting products to keep are those that are not promoted via social networks, Etsy ads. (However, you can still keep them) but as you cannot know what ad budgets they are using for their products, these results can sometimes be misleading.
Once you've sorted and have your list, click on all these products and analyze them individually by putting yourself in the buyer's shoes.
This step is quite long and tedious, but it's crucial.
Ask yourself these kinds of questions:
<aside> <img src="/icons/thought-dialogue_gray.svg" alt="/icons/thought-dialogue_gray.svg" width="40px" /> Why would the customer click on this product? (Quality of the thumbnail? Title?)
</aside>
<aside> <img src="/icons/thought-dialogue_gray.svg" alt="/icons/thought-dialogue_gray.svg" width="40px" /> What in the thumbnail makes the customer want to click on the product listing?
</aside>
<aside> <img src="/icons/thought-dialogue_gray.svg" alt="/icons/thought-dialogue_gray.svg" width="40px" /> What are the product's features? What type of product is it? What’s its quality?
</aside>
<aside> <img src="/icons/thought-dialogue_gray.svg" alt="/icons/thought-dialogue_gray.svg" width="40px" /> Does it have something extra compared to its competition?
</aside>
<aside> <img src="/icons/thought-dialogue_gray.svg" alt="/icons/thought-dialogue_gray.svg" width="40px" /> How are the mockups structured? What is the customer's journey?
</aside>
<aside> <img src="/icons/thought-dialogue_gray.svg" alt="/icons/thought-dialogue_gray.svg" width="40px" /> What style is mostly used?

Once you have answered these questions, you should have enough clarity to start creating your bestseller. That's what we'll see in the next section.
